Senior Financial Analyst

. CNA National is seeking a curious and highly analytical candidate for our senior financial analyst role. Reporting to the Director of FP&A, this role will collaborate to develop and produce internal management reporting and financial statement analytics. This role also includes significant responsibility in the annual planning process and ad‑hoc analytics. Ideal candidates will have a strong desire to improve processes through automation tools and templates.

• Participate in developing the annual operating plan
• Prepare detailed segment and product‑level financial statements
• Partner with FP&A and Accounting team members to provide insight into financial performance
• Support the financial close process via variance analysis
• Identify, communicate, and perform process improvement projects to drive increasingly efficient reporting and analysis
• Develop and maintain advanced financial reporting and analytical tools using ERP system, Excel and Tableau
• Support the development of presentation materials
• Support development of automated tools and templates to increase efficiency and improve accuracy of reporting

• At least 4 years in finance and/or accounting roles with demonstrated data and analytical skills
• Strong Excel skills to include complex nested formulas and familiarity with Power Pivot and DAX
• Demonstrated success in process improvement
• Experience with data mining and database tools
• Ability to understand financial data and ensure accuracy through communication and validation

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Data Analytics

• Organized, efficient, and able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
• Able to work through and articulate potential solutions
• Not hesitant to seek assistance and ask questions
• Makes sound, timely decisions based on a mixture of analysis, experience, communication and judgment
• Takes a holistic view of the business; connecting how a given change or decision will impact the financials, processes, and outcomes both locally and for the parent company
• Advanced Microsoft Office and Tableau experience
