Overview

The Voya Investment Management Private Market Operations team is comprised of 22 investment support professionals. Within the Operations team, there is a 6-person Loan Settlement team. The team is seeking a Settlement Intern to settle loan trades. The individual will also assist the team in researching and maintaining correct asset positions of the various portfolios investing in the senior loan asset class.

Responsibilities
  • Become fluent in multiple computer-based programs that involve input and analysis, including RDS, Aladdin and Clear Par. Review, verify, and settle trades via Clear Par or on paper documents, where required.
  • Maintain, track, and prioritize all unsettled loan trades. Work closely with the cash team to determine daily cash requirements for settlements.
  • Review and verify Funding Memo and relevant loan details.
  • Coordinate and resolve any post trade settlement issues and cash queries with back office and trading counter parties.
  • Ensure timely delivery of internal & external reports.
  • Investigate discrepancies/audits and efficiently resolve sensitive operational issues.
  • Coordinate with loan traders and internal/external Legal team(s) regarding proposed changes to trade and settlement documents.
  • Work directly with clients, internal partners and external Agents to resolve issues and ensure smooth closing of all trades.
  • Collaborate with external loan servicers to confirm trade closings, cash and agent position reconciliation.
  • Coordinate and confirm corporate actions with trading.
  • Coordinate with internal Legal team for client onboarding or any KYC requirements.
  • Prepare and review settlement calculations including delayed compensation, cost of carry and benefit of commitment reductions.
  • Understand and comply with firm policies and procedures while performing the responsibilities above.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Knowledge & Experience
  • Pursuing Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in finance, business or economics.
  • Ability to perform self-directed work with multiple deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Functional with Microsoft Windows (e.g., Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Candidate must possess strong communication skills, be a team player, and have strong organizational skills with acute attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid capacity in the Scottsdale office.
Compensation

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate’s geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Base salary: $23.00/hr usd
