Systems Engineer - Ground Management & Integration

As a Systems Engineer on the SDA Ground Management and Integration (GMI) Program, you will support the continued evolution of cutting‑edge ground segment capabilities under the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA), with a specific focus on Tranche 2 (T2) SUPERNOVAs and Ground Entry Points (GEPs). This role is integral to a cross‑functional team innovating satellite‑ground communications, mission scheduling, and cloud‑based infrastructure for space‑ground integration.
Responsibilities:- Deliver systems engineering solutions for Tranche 2 ground infrastructure, including SUPERNOVAs and GEPs
- Develop, analyze, and validate system requirements, architecture, and interfaces
- Support design, integration, and testing of ground segment software and hardware
- Apply cloud‑based microservice architecture in mission system development
- Utilize Dev Ops automation tools for streamlined system deployment
- Integrate cybersecurity standards into system design (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001)
- Leverage MBSE tools (e.g., CAMEO, Magic Draw) for systems modeling
- Coordinate with software developers and analysts for prototype algorithm implementation
- Contribute to technical documentation, configuration baselines, and deployment procedures
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or related STEM field
- 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree + 3 years
- Top Secret clearance preferred at time of hire
- Experience in systems design, architecture, and integration
- Proficiency in requirements decomposition and interface definition
- Familiarity with Linux/Windows OS, networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Cloud Formation)
- Experience with Dev Ops tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef) and virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V)
- Experience in ground system or satellite communications design
- Background in tracking IR payloads, mission scheduling, and situational awareness systems
- Familiarity with modeling/simulation tools (e.g., STK, MATLAB)
- Programming experience with Java, Python, or scripting for system analysis or prototyping
- Exposure to cybersecurity integration in DoD‑compliant environments
