School Aide - Noon Aide/Crossing Guard - Echo Canyon ES

Position type:
Part-time; typically non-exempt.

Position objective and duties are described below. Responsibilities may vary by assignment.

• Provides a security presence at the school complex by walking around the facility and monitoring activities and students; reports the presence of unauthorized personnel to the school office.
• Monitors activities on campus to ensure the safety of students; may include identifying safety violations, diffusing situations among students, and reinforcing positive social behavior.
• Performs minor housekeeping and groundskeeping tasks to keep the environment free of litter and/or dangerous situations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or G.E.D.; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

• Ability to complete Crossing Guard training.
• Applicants recommended for hire will receive instructions on how to obtain a fingerprint clearance card as a condition of employment.

• Basic safety and security principles, practices, equipment, and procedures.
• Customer service principles.

• Recognizing potential security risks.
• Providing customer service.
• Communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc., sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.

Positions in this class typically require reaching, finger dexterity, and grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time and may require lifting up to 10 pounds; walking and standing are required only occasionally.

Retirees will have an hourly rate approximately 9% lower than listed below without falling below minimum wage.
