The Accounting Manager assists the controller in managing the daily accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll, while ensuring compliance with GAAP and tax regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities- Manage customer invoicing, revenue recognition, and partner with the sales department on reporting.
- Responsible for bi-weekly payroll processing & recording of payroll journal entries.
- Prepare monthly commission calculations.
- Assist with preparation of weekly cash projection.
- Responsible for monthly and quarterly sales tax reporting.
- Perform Month-End, Quarter-End, and Year-End closing functions.
- Prepare account reconciliations and supporting workpaper documentation.
- Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
- Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
- Evaluate processes/procedures making recommendations for improvement always striving for best practices with role.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Minimum of five years of accounting experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related discipline.
- Experience with Net Suite a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Ability to correctly prepare tax reports.
