Position: Bookkeeper (Part-Time)

This role is part time: 20 hours per week / 3 days a week

Role Overview

The Bookkeeper is responsible for providing accounting support to the owners of the agency and operations department with oversight by the Controller. This person manages day-to-day bookkeeping transactions using expert knowledge and professional application of accounting principles.

A successful candidate will provide a broad scope of professional accounting functions to complete the full accounting cycle, which include but are not limited to maintaining the cash and reconciling it monthly, inputting of expense invoices, and monthly financial reports.

What will you do as a Bookkeeper?
  • Support operations by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions
  • Assemble financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information
  • Performing and preparing accounting and clerical functions
  • Performing month end management fee procedures
  • Preparing and reviewing bank deposits and wires
  • Preparing and reviewing journal entries
  • Perform job costing and project-level financial tracking to support accurate reporting and profitability analysis
  • Reconciling balance sheet accounts
  • Reconciling bank activity on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
  • Preparing monthly/quarterly financial statements
  • Accounts payable and receivable
  • Payroll administration
What will prepare you for success as a Bookkeeper?
  • High School Diploma or equivalent;
    Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Three years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
  • Experience with Quick Books (required)
  • Data entry and word processing skills
  • Attention to detail, well organized with strong time management skills
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of professional accounting / bookkeeping practices
  • Experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
