Junior Accountant - Corporate - Scottsdale, AZ

We are seeking a detail oriented Junior Accountant to join the accounting team. The role supports day-to-day accounting activities under the direction of the Accounting Manager.

• Performs daily and monthly bank account reconciliations to ensure accurate cash and accounting balances.
• Assists in Accounts Payable processes, including payments, accruals, reporting, and reconciliations.
• Works with the Senior Accountant to prepare year-end audit schedules and bank/warehouse confirmations.
• Performs journal entries for daily and monthly reconciliations for loans held for sale; reconciles related accounts.
• Reconciles daily funding and purchase interface entries.
• Assists with reconciling escrow and loans held for sale balance sheet accounts and select general ledger accounts.
• Contributes to updating and maintaining department policies and procedures.
• Participates in internal meetings and required trainings; maintains professional appearance and adherence to company policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business, or finance preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience required
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant mortgage industry experience preferred
• Knowledge of GAAP and national accounting preferred
• Knowledge of mortgage banking regulatory requirements preferred
• Experience with Encompass, AMB and Paylocity preferred
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial data
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Outlook
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong customer service
• Ability to develop positive relationships and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to implement written procedures; independent, self-starting, team player with a positive attitude

The work environment is typically office-based. The role may require handling objects up to 10 pounds frequently and 20 pounds occasionally. The employee should be able to sit for extended periods, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, and communicate verbally. The noise level is usually moderate and the environment is climate-controlled.
