Overview
The Speech Therapist assumes primary responsibility for evaluation of the patient, planning, implementing, supervising, reevaluating and changing the treatment program. The therapist maintains adequate records and documents the appropriate progress reports and patient education. The therapist supervises support staff and students as assigned.
QualificationsEducation required: Master’s Degree from an Accredited Institution in the area of Speech Therapy/Communication Disorders
License, certification and/or registration: ASHA Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology, or eligible to begin CFY with successful completion of nation exam required. Alabama license in Speech Pathology required within 6 months. Must receive BCLS certification within orientation period.
Experience: Prefer clinical work with adults with speech/language/swallowing/voice disorders. Training/experience for participation in Modified Barium Swallows and operation of Videostroboscopic equipment.
Additional skills/abilities: Must have excellent communication skills with the ability and willingness to work with all patients in a fast-paced environment.
