The RN works under the general supervision of the Department Director. The RN utilizes the nursing process to plan and deliver quality nursing care to assigned patients. The RN utilizes critical thinking to plan and select appropriate interventions for patient care that result in the desired outcomes. The RN directs and accepts responsibility for immediate supervision of assistive personnel, delegates care appropriately according to nursing practice standards, and participates in the orientation of new employees.
