Job Posting: JR RN (Part-Time) - Western Nebraska Veterans' Home Scottsbluff (Evergreen)
Hourly pay range: $36.566–$53.903. Pay may be commensurate with education/experience. Plus $3/hr differential for every hour worked and shift differentials $1.50–$2.50.
Work schedule:
Part‑time 0600‑1430 (days) or 1400‑2230 (evenings); 8‑hour shift each day; set schedule; works every other weekend only.
- Direct, coordinate, monitor, and provide patient care activities and delivery of nursing care by licensed professional nurses and direct care staff.
- Train nursing or direct care staff in appropriate nursing care standards and techniques.
- Assist in the orientation of newly hired nurses.
- Make patient rounds, monitor condition, assess health status, and implement nursing interventions.
- Administer medications and/or treatments or supervise administration by licensed/certified staff.
- Evaluate and report patient symptoms, progress, and medication reactions.
- Consult with physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, and other treatment staff to ensure quality care.
- Write reports on patient progress, medication use, and complete patient‑focused actions to accomplish plan goals.
- Ensure patient records kept current, transcribe orders, and record medications.
- Assist in evaluation of patient progress as part of interdisciplinary team; develop, implement, evaluate, and revise nursing care plans.
- Serve as Nurse Supervisor or Nursing Director/Associate in their absence.
- Minimum:
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska or authority under Nurse Licensure Compact to practice in Nebraska. - Knowledge of nursing theory/practice, standards of care, policies, sanitation and infection control, charting standards, medications, and Nebraska nursing regulations.
- Skill in coordinating and providing nursing care; ability to observe changes, communicate them, consult specialists, instruct staff, maintain records, write reports, communicate with medical professionals, follow instructions, maintain empathy, participate in interdisciplinary team, and use sound nursing judgment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, push/pull up to 50 lbs, bend at waist and neck, twist at waist, walk/stand up to 50% of shift.
