Job SummarySupervise, provide, and coordinate nursing care in compliance with facility policies and procedures. Assess residents’ care needs and report concerns to the Director of Nursing.

Qualifications- Holder of a current unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the State of Nebraska.
- Successfully completed accredited school of nursing.
- Competent to provide nursing related services according to scope of practice.
- Maintain licensure requirements set by the State of Nebraska.
- Ability to direct and supervise staff.
- Management experience and delegation skills.
- No crime convictions related to care services.
- Fluency in English.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform typical nursing duties.
- Strong interpersonal skills, respect, kindness, loyalty.
- Basic computer skills, excellent oral and written communication.
- Adherence to the N.N.A. Code of Ethics.
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
- Problem‑solving and planning skill.
- Ability to work at any Northfield Retirement Community Long Term Care or Assisted Living facility.
- Follow established standards of nursing practice and implement facility policies.
- Supervise and evaluate all direct resident care; initiate corrective action when needed.
- Obtain and report nurse hand‑off information with adequate documentation.
- Conduct resident rounds daily; report problems to the Director of Nursing.
- Identify resident problems and emergencies and initiate actions per Advanced Directives.
- Provide supervision to LPN and aides; administer medication per physicians’ orders.
- Offer instruction to aides within scope of practice.
- Participate in employee evaluation process.
- Address discipline issues when necessary.
- Perform assessment and documentation using comprehensive care plans.
- Report changes in residents’ conditions to physician and Director.
- Coordinate admission and discharge procedures and communicate with departments.
- Complete required documentation for admissions, discharges, transfers.
- Perform basic nursing skills competently.
- Supervise response to resident assistance calls.
- Maintain accurate medication records and narcotic counts.
- Check meals and assist residents with intake.
- Manage device placement and removal to promote independence.
- Coordinate medication ordering, receipt, and storage.
- Observe infection control and safety procedures.
- Follow Resident Rights policies.
- Maintain professional appearance and punctuality.
- Communicate changes in resident status to physician and care team.
- Maintain continuous education for licensure.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Compliance with corporate compliance program.
- Knowledge of mandatory reporting requirements.
- Immediate action upon concerns related to residents’ care.
- Flexibility to meet resident needs across assignments.
