Nelnet Financial Services (NFS) is seeking an intern to join the NFS investments team, with a focus on structured finance investments/asset management. The hire will assist with a wide range of tasks related to the investment process including risk assessment, underwriting and performance tracking.
Job Responsibilities- Provide investment analysis assistance across various specialty finance asset classes including consumer unsecured, auto, small business, home improvement and other loan types
- Collaborate internally with employees and departments to accomplish work projects
- Maintain and update comparable deal tracker
- Complete special projects as assigned by management
- Manage multiple conflicting priorities and consistently meet deadlines
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field
ExperienceRelevant coursework in finance, accounting and business
Prior internship in finance or accounting preferred
Competencies – Skills/Knowledge/Abilities- Attention to detail
- PC skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
- Good oral and written communication
- Ability to follow directions. Willingness to learn new processes
- Knowledge of accounting practice and procedures
- Energetic and enthusiastic attitude
- Good work ethic and habits
