SummaryJAG Nebraska Program Managers lead a team of in‑class Career Specialists to fully implement the JAG Nebraska model, ensure program goals are achieved, build relationships with school districts and community leaders, and support the mission of United Way of the Midlands.
Responsibilities- Ensure the JAG Advantage (Project Based Learning, Trauma Informed Care, and Employer Engagement) is implemented with integrity within each program.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback to JAG Nebraska Career Specialists.
- Travel to program sites monthly to engage in relationship-building with students, JAG Career Specialists, and school administrators.
- Conduct annual meetings with district administration in collaboration with JAG Career Specialists to review program successes and align with upcoming district and school goals.
- Assist JAG Career Specialists’ school and district administration as needed regarding student recruitment.
- Communicate professionally and timely to maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, community leaders, business partners, and JAG Nebraska leadership.
- Ensure evidence-based classroom management techniques are utilized in each JAG classroom.
- Review, analyze, and assess program performance outcomes using data in JAG Force monthly.
- Review and attend employer engagement activities to ensure one hands-on engagement is provided in each CTE sector per program per school year.
- Collaborate with the UWM VP, Program Development to plan and coordinate employer engagement experiences and remove gaps in services.
- Ensure strategic and meaningful partnerships with local United Way chapters per program.
- Attend and assist in planning and implementation of national, statewide, and regional student and staff events and training, including facilitation of event planning committees as assigned.
- Host team meetings with JAG Career Specialists to share information and receive feedback.
- Meet one-on-one with JAG Career Specialists at least monthly to provide support as needed.
- Recruit, interview, and hire for JAG Nebraska Career Specialist positions in collaboration with each school district’s administration.
- Coordinate with the JAG Regional Manager and the UWM Director, Communications regarding local media and press requests or engagements.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
- Effectively implement curriculum, projects, and/or other educational opportunities consistent with the goals of JAG and Nebraska Department of Education requirements for Career and Technical Education.
- Substitute teach for Career Specialists as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Travel to UWM at least once per month to attend JAG leadership events.
- Build, lead, and mentor a team of JAG Specialists.
- Interview, hire, and train staff in the department.
