* There are 13 available ESY Special Education Teacher position:
3 at ECC/Wampatuck; 10 at Gates; (includes Elementary, Middle and High School grade levels)
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Special Education ESY Teacher's primary responsibility is to work with students on their IEP goals in order to prevent substantial regression and promote student achievement. The teacher provides direct instruction and instructional support to students with disabilities. Some resources and lessons will be provided to the teacher. The teacher may need to develop additional lessons and/or modify the lessons and work beyond what is provided.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Plan and/or implement evidence-based interventions appropriate for individual students and/or groups of students.
* Adapt materials to assist students with disabilities to access the curriculum.
* Implement instruction, academic and behavioral interventions to work on students' IEP goals
* Make data-driven instructional decisions to improve student outcomes.
* Interpret informal and classroom based assessment for students in order to make instructional decisions.
* Collect data on student performance to improve student outcomes and direct instruction.
* Monitor student progress and complete a progress report for each student..
* Supervise special education aides working with their students.
* Communicate with parents and other appropriate school personnel.
* Take student attendance for each class or session.
* Adhere to established rules, regulations, laws and appropriate ethical standards.
* Perform other related duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee.
QUALIFICATIONS
- REQUIRED:
* Bachelor's Degree in Special Education
* Massachusetts Educator's License
* A minimum of two years' teaching experience
* Expertise with behavior management, curriculum modification and differentiated instructional practices.
* Knowledge of the requirements of state and federal regulations
* Current authorization to work in the United States by the first day of employment.
QUALIFICATIONS-PREFERRED:
* Master's Degree
* Valid DESE Moderate Disability license, in assigned level
* At least 2 year(s) of successful experience as a special education teacher in a public school setting at the assigned level
TERMS:
Summer 2026, Pay is per union contract $52.30 per hour
