Project Engineer, Systems Engineer

The Project Engineering Manager leads the technical planning, coordination, and execution of customer engineering projects from contract signature through completion of all contractual obligations. This role is responsible for defining project scope, developing schedules, and overseeing all engineering activities while serving as the primary technical interface across internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

+ Lead development of project scope, schedules, and engineering execution plans; monitor progress and ensure alignment with customer and contractual requirements.

+ Serve as the technical focal point for Proposal Management, Cost Estimating, Product Engineering, Sourcing, partners, customers, and engineering subcontractors.

+ Provide technical leadership across engineering disciplines, ensuring best practices, quality standards, and current industry knowledge are applied throughout project execution.

+ Manage cross‑functional engineering teams to identify and mitigate risks, capitalize on opportunities, and drive successful project outcomes.

+ Review customer specifications and ensure accurate flow‑down of requirements to all design functions using internal documentation systems.

+ Evaluate financial and schedule impacts of customer‑requested scope changes and support decision‑making with clear technical rationale.

+ Provide technical support to Engineering, Sourcing, Vendors, and Installation teams to ensure equipment meets customer requirements and business objectives.

+ Enforce quality procedures, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and capture lessons learned for organizational knowledge.

+ Operate effectively within a global matrix organization, collaborating with engineering teams across multiple GE sites as well as project managers, quality, sourcing, logistics, and scheduling.

+ Interface externally with customers, EPCs, partners, and subcontractors to ensure technical alignment and customer satisfaction.

+ When assigned, serve as Senior Project Engineering Manager, leading the full technical solution across all product lines and partnering with the project manager for customer/EPC engagements.

+ Drive consistent requirement flow‑down across GT/ST/Gen/BOP product lines, resolve system‑level technical issues, manage technical risks, and support project profitability.

+ Deep understanding of engineering best practices and how they integrate across functions.

+ Ability to apply sound judgment to solve moderately complex engineering and operational challenges.

+ Strong communication and persuasion skills, with the ability to explain complex or sensitive information and build consensus.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's or higher degree in Engineering or any other related STEM program from an accredited university or college.

A min of 6 years of experience or more of related industry experience with increasing responsibilities.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
