OSP Design Engineer

Seeking qualified applicants for entry level OSP CAD Drafter. Ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, intelligent individual with the desire to learn on the job all necessary skills required to draft & design Outside Plant telecommunications (OSP) projects. Job will involve learning various design guidelines specific to our customer(s). You will learn to draft in multiple CAD platforms and navigate proprietary software systems required to complete technical telecommunication design packages.

The OSP Drafter will also learn to determine new and existing locations for fiber optic cables, above and below ground equipment cabinets, telephone poles and other underground structures and draft them in an accurate and error-free design package to be delivered to the customer on time.

Position located in the Erie, PA office. Candidate must have reliable transportation to & from office on a daily basis.

Job Requirements:

• Preferred educational background would include a technical or engineering degree/certificate or work experience in an engineering field, programming, networking, utility construction or a similar function.
• Micro Station and/or CAD experience is preferred.
• Should be a proactive and self-learner
• Should have good attitude and aptitude for learning.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to read, understand, interpret, input, and analyze data.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks
