This is a 100% in-office role based at our Schamburg, IL location. Remote or hybrid work is not available for this position. Candidates must be able to work on-site five days per week during designated work hours.

Job Summary

The Security Manager plays a critical role in advancing Paylocity’s physical security strategy by supporting and executing protective operations, travel security, intelligence gathering, and risk mitigation for key executives and designated personnel. This position oversees security advances, executive protection assignments, emergency planning, and vendor coordination while ensuring alignment with corporate security objectives. The role requires strong judgment, operational precision, confidentiality, and the ability to perform in high-pressure and dynamic environments, including nights, weekends, and travel.

Functions
  • Partner with the Director of Physical Security to implement and support all organizational security programs.
  • Manage daily operational schedules for site security, executive protection, and third-party security personnel.
  • Lead planning and coordination of domestic and international executive travel, including advance assessments, hotel and transportation vetting, route planning, and contingency preparation.
  • Serve as Acting Director of Physical Security when required, ensuring seamless operational continuity.
  • Conduct detailed security advances for events, facilities, and travel destinations.
  • Provide professional executive protection services during corporate events, business travel, and high-visibility activities.
  • Utilize and optimize security technologies including video surveillance, alarms, access control, and related systems to protect facilities and staff.
  • Collect, assess, and apply protective intelligence and open-source information to identify and mitigate emerging threats.
  • Oversee visitor and access management, including screening, verification, escorting, and badging protocols.
  • Perform risk and vulnerability assessments for corporate offices, executive residences, and travel locations.
  • Collaborate with internal partners, external agencies, and law enforcement at the local, state, federal, and international levels.
  • Support emergency response operations, including crisis management, threat response, medical incidents, and natural or human-made disasters.
  • Apply de-escalation, conflict-resolution, and behavioral-assessment techniques to maintain safety and reduce risk.
  • Provide First Aid, CPR, AED, and bleeding-control support as needed.
  • Deliver security briefings, employee training, and awareness programs for staff, partners, and executive teams.
  • Assist with investigations involving threats, surveillance, attribution, employee safety concerns, and related matters.
  • Support recurring internal audits, security reviews, and compliance initiatives.
  • Maintain operational readiness, confidentiality, and professional conduct at all times.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in security operations, executive protection, protective intelligence, or related areas.
  • Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and decision-making abilities.
  • Demonstrated success managing investigations, surveillance operations, and complex security logistics.
  • Extensive network and strong relationships within law enforcement and protective services.
  • Experience with Everbridge or other mass-communication/alerting systems preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited law enforcement academy or equivalent U.S. military law enforcement MOS, with a minimum of 10 years of sworn service (active, retired, or honorably discharged).
  • Executive protection experience supporting C-suite or high-visibility individuals, including international operations.
