The Business Development Specialist is responsible for driving awareness, engagement, and adoption of Rate Insurance services across internal Rate Companies’ Loan Officers, Real Estate partners, outside lead partners, and carrier relationships. This entry-level role focuses on relationship development, education, and consistent outbound engagement to increase opt-in participation, improve referral performance, and support long-term, scalable partnerships.

This role works cross-functionally with the Executive Vice President of Business Development, Sales Leadership, Branch Managers, and Rate Insurance Carrier Partners to ensure a seamless onboarding experience, strong ongoing engagement, and continuous improvement across partnerships.

The ideal candidate is a motivated, organized, and creative individual who welcomes the challenges of acquiring and developing new business through sales efforts. You will build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, and close business deals while maintaining an extensive knowledge of current market conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all secondary lines insurance carrier partners
  • Schedule and leads recurring carrier meetings
  • Partner with branch managers to coordinate participation in individual team calls
  • Distribute a weekly business development update to key stakeholders
  • Track outreach, opt - ins, and onboarding activity withing salesforce
  • Maintain accurate records of VP engagement and status
  • Support onboarding messaging and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business
  • 3+ years' of sales or account management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized; strong follow up and time- management skills
  • Insurance experience preferred
  • Coachable mindset with a willingness to learn insurance, mortgage, and partnership workflows
  • Experience working in a metric driven or performance based environment
  • Must be comfortable presenting to small groups and leading virtual meetings
  • Hybrid Position:
    Must be in Schaumburg office 2-3 times/week and assist with events on some evenings/weekends
