POSITION TITLE: Marketing & Development Manager
FULL TIME -
HYBRID: 2 days in office (M, Tu or Th), 3 days remote
REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Development, Marketing & Corporate Relations
SUPERVISES: None
TRAVEL: Approximately 5-10 days annually
POSITION SUMMARY:The Marketing & Development Manager plays a key role in advancing the mission of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association by supporting individual fundraising, grant writing, and integrated marketing strategies. This individual will contribute to all aspects of the donor pipeline as well as collaborate on creative marketing campaigns to amplify impact and engagement. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong writing, project management, and creative design skills who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Marketing & Communication
- Collaborate on, or lead the development of marketing and communication campaigns to support education and fundraising goals
- Collaborate on, or create compelling content for newsletters, social media, website, and print collateral
- Assist with website management and updates
- Support brand management across platforms and departments
- Manage grant life cycles: proposal writing, grant submissions, financial tracking and reconciliations
- Coordinate industry and individual donor communications, acknowledgements, and impact reporting
- Support annual and major giving campaigns and donor engagement initiatives
- Ensure accurate donor records in the CRM, generate relevant reports, invoicing and collaborate on database improvements
- Work cross-functionally with staff in marketing, education, fundraising, and association leadership to align development and marketing strategies
- Assist in the planning and execution of donor events and annual meeting acknowledgments and activities
- Represent the organization at meetings and events as appropriate
- 4-year degree and 5-7 years of professional experience in marketing, grant writing and individual fundraising
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, donor databases/CRMs, grant application systems, social media platforms, and experience using website content management systems
- Creating design experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite
- Initiative, creativity, and high attention to detail working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Strong project management and organizational skills, able to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experiences working within associations or member-based organizations preferred
- A “can-do” attitude and collaborative spirit
- Solid understanding of nonprofit development principals and best practices
