Lead Operator Lv. 1 - Plastics Industry

Salary: $16.50 - $18.15/hour (DOE) inc. Shift Differential

Are you a highly motivated Lead Operator ready to take on a key role in the plastics industry? PM Mold is seeking a leader to mentor and guide our production team. This is a unique opportunity to directly impact our growing company and contribute to a positive and successful team environment. We have openings on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.

What You'll Do

As a Lead Operator, you'll be the role model for your team, ensuring quality and safety standards are met in a fast-paced environment. Your responsibilities will include:

• Training and Mentoring: Train machine operators on state-of-the-art plastic injection molding and assembly processes.
• Quality Control: Perform in-process and final quality inspections, meticulously documenting productivity and performance.
• Team Leadership: Oversee 5 to 15 machine operators, promoting a positive and efficient team environment.
• Safety and Standards: Uphold safety protocols, identify defective products, and ensure all items are properly labeled and documented.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who is detail-oriented, adaptable, and has a passion for leadership.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2+ years of injection molding experience.
• Experience in a team leadership or supervision role.
• Excellent communication and training skills.
• Proficiency in using measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
• Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions in English.
• A strong, quality-oriented mindset.

Preferred Skills:

• Previous experience with material handling, including operating a manual or electric pallet jack.

Physical Requirements

This position requires a high level of physical activity, including the ability to lift up to 25 pounds, climb ladders up to six feet, and have good mobility for reaching, stooping, bending, and standing. You must also have good visual acuity to detect changes in plastic and the ability to hear machine alarms.
