About Us

The Schaumburg Park District is an award-winning public agency that provides its 80,000 residents with a wide variety of recreational facilities, programs, events, parks and open spaces.

Our Fleet Services Department consists of our Fleet Supervisor and two full-time Mechanics. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing and performing preventative maintenance on our fleet of trucks, cars, buses, trailers, tractors, mowers, small equipment, and diesel engines. Additional responsibilities include ordering and managing parts inventory, and other duties as assigned.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old with a valid Illinois driver’s license; CDL license is required or must be obtained within the first year of employment. Journeyman level mechanic with prior experience in fleet repair and/or maintenance is required.

This is a full-time year-round non-exempt (hourly) position. Work schedule is generally Monday-Friday from 6:45am-3:15pm. Target hiring range is $29.84-$31.00 per hour.
