Chief, Osteopathic Principles & Practice

The Niazee College of Osteopathic Medicine – NCOM is seeking an innovative Chief of Osteopathic Principles & Practice (OPP) to lead the development and delivery of a clinically integrated, student-centered OPP/OMM curriculum. To succeed as the Chief of Osteopathic Principles & Practice, you should have:

  • DO degree required (or MD with OMM equivalency) with AOA or ABMS board certification and maintenance of certification.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in academic medicine, preferably in osteopathic education, with prior leadership or administrative experience.
  • Expertise in curriculum design, assessment, accreditation standards, and integration of OPP/OMM across a four-year medical curriculum.
  • Demonstrated excellence in modern instructional methods, including TBL, PBL, and flipped learning, with the ability to mentor faculty and students.
  • Proven research and scholarly activity with experience supporting academic development and evidence-based education.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with flexibility to navigate dynamic environments and willingness to travel as needed.

Your responsibilities as the Chief of Osteopathic Principles & Practice will include:

  • Lead the development, integration, and delivery of the four-year OPP/OMM curriculum, ensuring high-quality, clinically relevant, and student-centered instruction.
  • Mentor, recruit, and support faculty, promoting ongoing professional development, scholarship, and teaching excellence.
  • Oversee student assessment, course evaluation, and COMLEX preparation while serving as a role model for students, residents, and faculty.
  • Engage in research, scholarly activity, and academic mentorship, fostering evidence-based practice and innovation in osteopathic education.
  • Contribute to departmental and institutional strategic planning, budget oversight, and community/professional outreach to advance NCOM’s mission.
