Job Summary

The Behavioral Health Patient Coordinator / Receptionist will provide general assistance, information, referrals, and scheduling for individuals and families seeking Behavioral Health Services. The Coordinator represents to the community the quality‑of‑service delivery provided through Behavioral Health Services and thus is required to have interpersonal skills, patience, and a strong ability for problem‑solving in crisis or conflict situations. The Coordinator implements a screening and triage process to assist families in determining the necessary services and requires excellent communication and organizational skills, the ability to interact with all levels of Serene Health staff, and a wide range of external contacts.

Responsibilities
  • Manage front desk, greet clients, and manage office supplies.
  • Confirm coverage details including deductibles, co‑pays, and co‑insurance amounts.
  • Provide excellent customer service by answering patient questions about their insurance and benefits.
  • Implement a screening and triage process to assist potential clients in determining the necessary services.
  • Answer, return, and schedule client calls.
  • Schedule follow‑up and intake appointments as needed.
  • Add, update, and edit scheduling services.
  • Complete data entry for pre‑admission including identifying information, reason for referral, relevant history, and payor type information.
  • Identify emergent or complex cases and seek clinical review, as needed, prior to finalizing the patient’s appointment.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all clinical and administrative information consistent with agency policy.
  • Maintain a working relationship with managerial, administrative, and clinical staff to assure efficiency in day‑to‑day responsibilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in front office work preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Required Skills / Abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs with excellent data entry skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and phone etiquette.
  • Ability to maintain confidential records.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at an office desk on the computer.
  • Lifting:
    Able to lift up to 15 lbs.

Pay range: $18 USD - $22 USD
