Roadside Technician is an emergency response tire technician for semi-truck fleets. A Technician is dispatched to the customer s location to repair or change a tire. When no service calls are pending, Technicians help mount orders, clean and organize the shop, and perform other general duties as needed.
Responsibilities- Respond to tire-related failures at customer locations and repair or change tires on semi-trucks
- Assist with mounting orders, shop cleanup and organization, and other duties as needed
Starting Pay: 23 - 26 per hour
Shift information:
Mandatory on-call rotation. During on-call periods, technicians are expected to accept after-hours service calls, including weekends and nights, at a 95% acceptance rate. Time worked on after-hours calls is paid at double time with a minimum of 2 hours per call. For example, if a call is accepted, arrives, and completes in 45 minutes, the technician will receive 1 hour 15 minutes of double-time pay.
Requirements
- Valid driver s license and meet commercial driver qualification requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous Commercial Service Tire experience
- Servicing commercial tires including dismounting, mounting, and repairing any type of tire
- Perform match mounting, match mating dual assemblies, and radial runout as necessary
- Inflating tires to prescribed PSI per load requirements
- Complying with OSHA regulations and safety requirements including wearing PPE, using tire cages, and following all safety policies
