Product Demonstrator – Part Time
Location:
South Portland, ME. Pay: $20.00 per hour.
The associate is responsible for completing in‑store food and non‑food demonstrations, acquiring and maintaining knowledge of products represented, preparing, serving, and breaking down product, equipment and supplies, intercepting consumers to demonstrate products in a professional manner, and maintaining a professional appearance.
Responsibilities- Gain adequate knowledge of the products represented.
- Proactively intercept, engage, interact, and sell product to the consumer in a positive manner.
- Effectively communicate the features and benefits of the product.
- Prepare and serve food samples using small appliances such as microwaves, fryers, skillets, coffee makers and knives.
- Maintain a clean, sterile and safe workstation using cleaning chemicals.
- Maintain a professional appearance consistent with the requirements of the job.
- Properly set up and prepare event table for execution.
- Achieve 100% execution on assigned work.
- Assist with preparation for client visits and complete audit corrections.
- Build and maintain rapport with store personnel to effectively meet company and client objectives.
- Complete expense reports as per company policy.
- Accurately prepare and submit all online requirements on the same day as event execution.
- Use the internet, navigate company electronic systems (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Adobe PDF forms).
Education
:
High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months of related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills
:
Proficient in using personal computer or mobile device with applications and internal systems.
Certificates
:
Local food handler permit may be required.
Physical Demands
:
Regularly stand and walk during shifts; use hands and fingers; reach overhead up to 65 inches; talk and hear; read instructions; stoop, kneel, squat, climb or step up ladder; balance; lift and carry up to 25 pounds (occasionally 50 pounds); push and pull a wheeled demonstration cart fully loaded with supplies; prepare foods and beverages using required appliances; handle cleaning supplies.
Work Environment
:
Retail store environment; limited travel.
Professional Appearance
:
Clean, neat, appropriately groomed; comply with retailer dress code.
Language Skills
:
English primary; bilingual may be required.
