Overview
Piper Shores is Maine’s only nonprofit Continuing Care Retirement Community. The Assisted Living and Memory Care neighborhoods are made up of a total of 50 apartments, offering a close-knit community experience for residents and staff. We practice a person-centered Social Model of Care, emphasizing relationships, independence, choice and dignity in conjunction with clinical treatment when needed. This role reports to the Resident Services Manager and is part of the clinical leadership team.
Responsibilities- Assures the provision of quality services needed and/or desired by residents and in accordance with care plans and physician orders. Administers direct care as necessary.
- Provides day-to-day supervision of CRMA/PSS staff, providing coaching, mentoring, support and technical guidance. Elevates performance concerns to the Resident Services Manager.
- Champions a Social Model of Care and regularly rounds between Assisted Living and Assisted Living Memory Care neighborhoods to demonstrate this approach.
- Communicates changes in resident health or behavior with Resident Services Manager, physicians, and families.
- Coordinates with physicians, pharmacies, and other healthcare providers.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation in resident records.
- Ensures compliance with applicable regulations, policies and procedures; maintains survey readiness and proactively identifies areas for improvement.
- Licensed LPN in the State of Maine.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience preferred (assisted living, long-term care, or geriatrics a plus).
- Experience working with individuals living with dementia.
- Strong team approach and commitment to practicing positive communication with team members, residents, family members and community members.
- Demonstrated ability to train, mentor and coach others.
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- PC knowledge and skills, including MS Word and Excel.
- Current CPR certification or ability to obtain.
