Eligible candidates are Certified Surgical Technologists, including new graduates and previous MMC and Maine Health employees with more than 3 months of separation. Current MMC and Maine Health employees are not eligible.
Summary:
This is a Monday-Friday day shift position (4-10 hour shifts with 1 flexible day off), closed major holidays. No weekends and no on-call requirement past 2300.
The Scarborough Surgery Center provides care to patients of all ages, performing procedures such as, but not limited to, Total Joint Replacement, Robotics, Neuro, ENT, Orthopedics, GYN/GU. The center is designed for patient comfort, accommodating surgeries that may require an overnight stay. This freestanding, 59,000-SF outpatient surgical center is located on a remote campus and includes:
- 10 operating rooms
- 31 pre- and post-op rooms
The Surgical Technologist II role ensures all necessary elements are in place for surgical procedures. Participates in staff and student education and meets all criteria for Surgical Technologist I.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology required. - License/
Certifications:
Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting required within three months of start date or at discretion of Director for positions tification preferred rent BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. - Experience:
One year of experience required. Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Surgical Technologist I role. - Additional Skills/Requirements
