Morrison Center is seeking a Youth Peer Support Specialist. This position requires a compassionate and organized individual to join our dynamic, multidisciplinary Children’s Programs team in Scarborough, Maine. The Support Specialist is an individual who has a family member who is receiving or has received services and supports related to the diagnosis of a mental illness, serious emotional disturbance, and/or developmental delay, and self‑identifies on this basis with Behavioral Health Home members.
Requirements- Valid Maine Driver’s License with a clean record
- High School Diploma
- Appropriate vehicle insurance
- Complete the OCFS Peer Support Curriculum
- Able to work Monday‑Friday

- Willingness to share own experiences to build trust and caring relationships with families
- Demonstrate inclusion and respectful partnerships with the Behavioral Health Home Team and attend monthly clinical supervision
- Facilitate youth and family engagement within the program, navigate educational and community service supports for children and families
- Help locate shelter, food, and clothing to assist families with meeting basic needs
- Present ideas, suggestions, and needs to the team in a clear and objective way
- Adhere to Morrison Center policies and state required documentation, sustaining and enhancing the Center’s positive image and reputation for service
- Support with intake requests
- Client meet and greets
- Support to case managers who are supporting new clients through the intake process, and manage the Children’s program’s wait lists and referrals
- Occasional travel required to attend State and agency‑run trainings and meetings
