The Town of Scarborough's Community Services Department is seeking applicants who are creative, energetic, caring, responsible, and dependable to join our team as Summer Camp Counselors
. Camp Counselors are responsible for supervising children both on-site and off-site, planning and leading age-appropriate daily activities, and actively engaging with campers to create a safe, inclusive, and fun camp environment. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) within our eight-week seasonal summer day camp program
, serving children entering kindergarten through 6th grade.
Availability Requirements:
Applicants must be available June 19 – August 14, 2026
, anytime between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.. Mandatory training will be required prior to the first official day of camp.
Compensation:
Hourly pay based on education and experience.
- Must have completed junior year of high school
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents
- Basic knowledge of children's developmental needs
- First Aid/CPR and Water Safety Certification, or willingness to be trained
- Ability to be active and participate in indoor and outdoor activities throughout the day
