The Peace Rose Montessori School seeks a highly motivated, dedicated, and certified Preschool Head Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for early childhood education, a commitment to creating a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment, and experience working with young children. This role requires a P-3 certification (CE/CEAS) in New Jersey and the ability to lead a dynamic classroom that fosters learning, growth, and development in preschool‑aged children.
This position is for the school year.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement age‑appropriate lesson plans based on New Jersey State Standards for Early Childhood Education.
- Foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment that meets the needs of all students.
- Provide individualized support to children based on their developmental needs.
- Manage the classroom to ensure a safe, positive, and respectful atmosphere.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate student progress and development.
- Assess and monitor student growth using appropriate developmental milestones and academic assessments.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current on early childhood best practices and state guidelines.
- Work closely with teaching assistants and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and collaborative learning environment.
- Ensure that all school policies and state regulations are followed.
- A valid New Jersey CE/CEAS, P-3 certification.
- A bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Experience working with preschool-age children, ideally in a lead teacher role.
- Strong understanding of child development and best practices in early childhood education.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A passion for early childhood education and a commitment to the success of all students.
- Individuals following the alternate route will be considered as well.
- Experience with the Tools of the Mind curriculum is a plus.

Compensation: $48,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
