Job Summary

This position is responsible for the inspection and maintenance of fleet aircraft and the supervision of maintenance technicians to ensure the timely, efficient and safe return of MGA's aircraft to service.

Responsibilities Maintenance (50%)
  • Performs inspections of fleet aircraft.
  • Performs scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance.
  • Performs minor and major repairs/alterations as required.
Supervisory (40%)
  • Ensures the efficient and safe return of aircraft to service through the direct supervision of Aircraft Maintenance personnel.
  • Ensures all work is performed in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations and manufacturers' technical data.
  • Assigns daily maintenance activities after coordinating with the Director of Maintenance.
  • Assists mechanics as needed, in troubleshooting and decision-making.
  • Trains and onboards new hires to ensure they understand their roles and perform adequately.
  • Reports yearly performance evaluations to senior management.
Regulatory (5%)
  • Makes proper logbook entries in accordance with FAA regulations and university standards.
  • Makes proper entries in online maintenance tracking program.
General (5%)
  • Maintains parts and supply inventory through proper use of the computerized inventory control system.
  • Orders parts as needed, up to their maximum purchasing card limit. The Director of Maintenance must be informed prior to any purchase.
  • Maintains assigned tools and equipment.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Other Required Qualifications
  • Possession of FAA approved Airframe and Powerplant certificates with Inspection Authorization privileges.
  • Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime and weekend shifts as required.
Required Experience
  • Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with having had a similar position for one to two years.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Knowledge of the inspection, repair and maintenance of aircraft systems.
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations.
  • Knowledge of aircraft logbook and records maintenance requirements.
  • Knowledge of the tools and equipment used in the inspection, diagnosis, and repair of aircraft systems.
  • Skill to read, understand, and implement manufacturer’s technical data and instructions.
  • Skill to make timely decisions.
  • Skill in the operation of computers and job related software programs.
  • Skill in decision-making and problem solving.
  • Skill in interpersonal relations.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Maximize efficiency, productivity, and safety.
