CITY OF KINGMAN
RECREATION COORDINATOR
PARKS AND RECREATION

We’re looking for a Recreation Coordinator to help plan and oversee a variety of recreation programs, events, and activities for the community. This role coordinates program schedules, supervises part‑time staff and volunteers, and supports day‑to‑day operations for offerings such as aquatics, youth programs, sports leagues, fitness classes, and special events. The position also assists with program marketing, community partnerships, and ensuring activities are safe, organized, and enjoyable.

Because recreation programs often take place outside standard business hours, this position requires a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings and weekends. This role reports to the Recreation Superintendent and may act in that capacity when needed.

You’re comfortable working with a variety of people and take pride in creating positive experiences for the community.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Parks & Recreation Administration, Community Services, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Two years of recreation experience, including recreation programming.
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license (or ability to obtain within six months).
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Ability to supervise staff, coordinate volunteers, manage multiple programs, and communicate effectively with the public.
  • Strong organizational, marketing, and program development skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, based on program and event needs.
  • OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
