Overview
As the university safety operations center specialist, you will direct and dispatch university safety patrol officers to areas of concerns and calls for service. You will monitor extensive CCTV systems focusing on buildings and grounds as well as intrusion alarms. Among other duties, you will retrieve camera footage for use in court testimony and testify in criminal proceedings when necessary. You will also utilize basic crime analysis software to assist in the deployment of field personnel and manage campus transportation requests.
This position is identified as essential personnel in the university's emergency and disaster response plans. In the event of a university closure or evacuation, all essential personnel shall report.
Work hoursThe university work week is Sunday through Saturday. This position is full-time with 12-hour shifts. Day Shift is 6am–6pm, Night Shift is 6pm–6am. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
Minimum qualifications- High school diploma
- At least one year of experience in a public safety, military command, or a dispatch center
- Valid driver’s license
- 10–20%
