Overview

Barback - Pavilions - Part Time at Kessler Collection. An inspiring career awaits you. The Barback is responsible for providing guests with courteous, friendly, sincere, efficient, and graceful service that meets or exceeds guest expectations and the AAA Four Diamond standards. This position is primarily responsible for cleaning bar and equipment and replenishing bar supplies such as liquor, fruit, ice, and dishes.

Core Responsibilities
  • Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction using the G.U.E.S.T. standards
  • Assisting Bartending staff as needed
  • Set up a bar thoroughly and swiftly
  • Maintain service and sanitation standards according to health code regulations
  • Stock refrigerating units with wines and bottled beer
  • Replace empty beer kegs with full ones
  • Slice and pit fruit used to garnish drinks
  • Wash glasses, bar, and equipment and polish bar fixtures; clear and reset counters or tables at the conclusion of each course
  • Assist dining room servers in food and beverage service, set tables, serve guests as directed, maintain clean menus and table cleanliness
  • Provide beverages to tables as needed
  • Remove solid linens and replace with clean linen
  • Transport dirty dishes to the dishwashing station
  • Polish silver and glassware as needed
  • Present menu, answer questions, and make suggestions regarding food and beverage
  • Seat guests in the dining room
  • Mop floors
  • Remove empty bottles and trash
  • Mix and prepare flavors for mixed drinks
  • Maintain daily restaurant operations through daily side work
  • Keep bar area clean and organized at all times
  • Attend required training and department meetings
  • All other duties as assigned, planned or un-planned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent guest service and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to diverse guest types
  • Remain calm and well organized under pressure while working quickly
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to keep emotions under control
  • Good time management skills
  • Basic knowledge of wine, beer, and liquor
  • Respond promptly to guest needs
  • Communicate effectively with guests and Grand Performers
  • Speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations
  • Local knowledge of the community (attractions, activities, etc.)
  • English language and professional communications skills required
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School diploma – required
  • Hospitality or customer service experience - preferred
  • Experience in F&B operations - preferred

  • None
Work Environment
  • Must be comfortable working in a shared space with constant noise, without a private office
  • Must cope with frequently changing priorities and deadlines with optimism, professionalism, and collaboration
  • Schedules may vary based on business demands, with or without notice
Physical Demands
  • Standing and walking during the majority of shift
  • Regularly required to lift, reach with hands and arms, use fingers to handle or feel
  • Lifting up to 40 pounds
  • Working in kitchen environments on tiled flooring; may be hot or slippery; appropriate footwear required
  • Direct contact with guests, managers, and employees
  • Occasional exposure to cold, heat, and water
