The Room Service Server is responsible for receiving orders, preparing orders and delivering items to guestrooms in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner.
Responsibilities- Be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees.
- Prepare station in anticipation of the day’s business and stock work areas with necessary supplies.
- Set up and deliver all VIP amenities, and food and beverage orders in accordance with guidelines and policies.
- Answer the telephone and perform cashiering functions by closing checks and preparing end of shift paperwork.
- Deliver orders according to established standards and handle guest complaints.
- Break down trays of soiled dishes and linen in the dishroom, conduct floor sweeps, and maintain sanitation guidelines.
- Ensure quality of food & beverage being delivered and communicate with Manager/Kitchen.
- Call all guests before delivery of order and have a thorough knowledge of menus and current specials.
- Perform opening and closing procedures, side-work duties, and all cash handling responsibilities in accordance with hotel standards.
- Communicate guest needs to proper department and handle guest’s complaints to management.
- Perform all open/close procedures, cashiering, and handle all cash handling responsibilities per policies.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, friendly and courteous service orientation.
- Strong listening, understanding, and clarifying skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous manner.
- Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings, maintain regular attendance.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance, grooming and uniform compliance.
- Comply with hotel standards and safety regulations.
- Identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
- Ability to understand and apply complex information from multiple sources.
- Cross‑train in other hotel related areas and maintain confidentiality.
- Show initiative, anticipate guest or operational needs.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
- High School diploma or equivalent; experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
