- Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Perform daily QC testing on Hot Mix Asphalt as required by governing agencies and at the discretion of the QC Manager.
* Collect samples of materials and asphalt for testing and analysis.
* Record and report data collected from tests to ensure accurate tracking and documentation.
* Assist in the development and modification of mix designs based on test results and plant production needs.
* Conduct stockpile analysis on incoming aggregates and Recycled Asphalt Pavement (RAP) stockpiles as needed to maintain quality control.
* Monitor and assist in adjustments to plant settings to ensure proper mix consistency and compliance with specifications.
* Ensure all work is in compliance with safety standards, quality control protocols, and regulatory requirements.
* Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to report findings and assist with decision-making.
Education and Experience:
* High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
* At least six months of experience in asphalt quality control preferred.
* GDOT Asphalt Level I & II training is a plus, but not required.
* Basic knowledge of materials, mixing processes, and asphalt quality control.
* Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate percentages, and work with weights.
* Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals, use measuring devices, and follow verbal and written instructions.
* Must have good penmanship, record-keeping, and basic computer skills.
Minimum Skills and Requirements:
* Ability to perform strenuous work and handle physical tasks.
* Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
* Must possess a valid driver's license for the territory of operation.
* Ability to communicate effectively over the company radio and with team members.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure job and project requirements are met.
