Title: Groundskeeper III
Classification: I (FLSA Non-Exempt) Full Time Equivalent 1.00
Position Summary: Responsible for performing all groundskeeping related tasks at the Institute.
Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent
Preferred QualificationsGroundskeeping experience, and experience with operation and maintenance of basic grounds equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies- Understand verbal and written instructions, and work under adverse weather conditions at times.
- Solve practical problems and manage random issues.
- Lifting heavy objects, stooping, bending, standing for long periods of time. Lift approximately 50 lbs.
- Stoop, squat, operate lawn mower, edger, blower, aerator, roller, irrigation controllers, etc.
- Work in both hot and cold outdoor climates.
- Driving as needed to perform job duties.
- Grounds maintenance – mowing, trimming, pruning, pine straw application.
- Installation and maintenance of irrigation systems.
- Ground equipment operation and maintenance (backhoe, tractors, dump truck, aerial boom lift, variety of mowers, blowers, trimmers, edgers, hand tools).
- Pickup and disposal of trash, debris.
- Fertilizer application.
