Job Description Overview
We are seeking an experienced RN Manager – Mother Baby to lead a 22-bed postpartum unit within a 600+ bed regional referral medical center in Savannah, Georgia. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, staffing, quality outcomes, and performance management for a tenured Mother/Baby nursing team. The Manager will collaborate closely with the Director of Women’s Services to ensure exceptional maternal-newborn care and operational excellence.

- Reports To: Director of Women’s Services
- Plan, organize, staff, and direct Mother/Baby unit operations.
- Ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered postpartum care.
- Supervise, coach, and develop a tenured nursing staff.
- Oversee scheduling, productivity, hiring, evaluations, and competency validation.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures aligned with hospital standards.
- Monitor quality metrics, patient experience scores, and compliance measures.
- Maintain interdisciplinary collaboration across Women’s Services.
- Support budget management and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Active RN license (Georgia or Compact/Multi-State).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Required).
- Master’s Degree (Preferred).
- Current BLS and ACLS (AHA or American Red Cross).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 60 days of hire if not already certified.
- Minimum 3+ years of recent acute care Women’s Services experience.
- Minimum 1+ year of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Strong Mother/Baby or Postpartum leadership background.
- Experienced postpartum leader with proven ability to supervise seasoned nursing teams.
- Strong clinical background in Mother/Baby care.
- Collaborative communicator with ability to build physician and staff alignment.
- Quality-driven and metrics-focused.
- Confident leader capable of maintaining high standards in a busy Women’s Services program.
