Registered Nurse (RN) – Full‑Time Nights
* Additional $5/hr differential for all hours worked
Utilizing the Nursing Process of assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating, the Staff Registered Nurse is responsible for delivery of patient care: managing assigned personnel, and promoting collaboration among the multi-disciplinary health care team.
Core Job Functions- Assessment and reassessment are completed and changes in status are communicated to appropriate care provider. Plan of care is formulated and modified based on evaluation. Collaborates with disciplinary health care team to improve patient outcomes.
- Engages resources to facilitate timely discharge and throughput starting on admission. Anticipates forecasted patient care discharge needs to ensure throughput targets met. Provides input that decreases inefficiencies for unit, staff in collaboration with the manager.
- Utilizes Teach Back technique to assess understanding of education. Assesses needs for discharge and the best way the patient may be provided instruction. Utilizes appropriate written communication, education packets and/or audio‑video instructions. Teach back performed with patients to facilitate patient outcome improvements by increasing knowledge and skills needed to improve healthy behaviors. Elicit information using effective counseling techniques. Identify factors that might affect communication or learning.
- Care plan developed and implemented with other health care team members. Is a resource for others in the delivery of timely professional communication with physicians regarding Situation, Background, Assessment, and Recommendation format. Is a resource for assuring consistent rounding and communicating including present on admission indicators.
- Complies with regulatory guidelines for work area and professional practice standards. Utilizes available safety equipment and processes for patient care. Promotes a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
- Administers medication utilizing the 5 rights and available safety equipment and processes. Utilizes clinical judgment with patient assessment and prescribed therapies to ensure promotion of goal obtainment. As a leader holds healthcare providers accountable for the standard of care.
- Associates in Nursing – Required
- 2 – 3 Years – Required
- Medical/Surgical and/or Critical Care in a hospital within the last five years preferred
- Registered Nurse License – License with State of Practice – Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Required for Critical Care units
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – Required for PACU and ED units
