Responsibilities include instructing and counseling patients and their families, involving them in informed decision-making regarding their health, therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, treatment plans, family planning, and health maintenance. The role also involves facilitating referrals to other medical providers or facilities as delegated by the supervising physician.
- Education: Masters of Nursing - Preferred
- Experience: 1 Year Working as a physician extender - Preferred;
New graduates considered - License & Certification: Professional Certification and Advanced Practice License - Required
- Referring patients to labs, radiology, hospitals, or specialists, ensuring pre-certification when needed, based on insurance policies.
- Guiding patients on available services and self-management, facilitating referrals, and following up on care.
- Administering medication safely, providing quality care, and responding to urgent and emergent situations.
- Following policies for routine procedures, tests, medication administration, and assisting providers, including IV therapy.
- Identifying patient education needs and assisting in health education and management of illness.
- Explaining procedures and consent forms to patients, ensuring understanding and proper documentation.
- Taking vital signs at each visit, updating clinical records accordingly.
