Press Brake Operator

Position Overview:

Bring your knowledge of sheet metal and your experience with operating a press brake to our growing team in Savannah, Ga. No two days will be the same in our shop, and that's what makes this a cool place to work!

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Studying blueprints and specification sheets to understand technical requirements
• Setting a computer-controlled press brake to project specifications
• Changing punches and dies as required to make a proper bend
• Ensuring proper positioning and alignment of metal inside the press brake
• Monitoring the pressing process
• Measuring and inspecting the finished sheet metal to ensure it matches specifications
• Troubleshooting and addressing problems that arise during the pressing process
• Performing routine maintenance on the press brake
• Complying with all health and safety standards in the manufacturing facility
• Other duties as assigned by management

Skills & Requirements:

• In-depth understanding of the parts of a press brake and how the machine works
• Computer skills to operate CNC software
• Ability to remain upright and perform repetitive movements throughout most of a work shift
• Arithmetic skills to perform measurements and calculate settings
• Ability to move heavy or large pieces of sheet metal from one place to another
• Observation skills to monitor the pressing process and inspect metal after pressing
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations for the manufacturing industry
• Familiarity with blueprints and the terminology used in technical specification sheets
• Requires the ability to use a phone and tablet to input data, such as timecard information, emails, etc.
• Bilingual (Spanish) a plus for this role

Working Environment:
Work is typically performed while standing, in a limited climate-controlled sheet metal fabrication shop.

Salary:
Starting at $22/hour but depends on skills and experience level.
