POSITION SUMMARYThe Industrial Mechanic I supports the maintenance of the dry bulk terminal(s) to ensure an efficient operation. This position works a rotating shift, including day and evening shift. This may occasionally include weekends, holidays, and emergency callouts. The Industrial Mechanic I works both as a part of a high-performance team and as an individual contributor and is encouraged to seek support from more senior level mechanics.
This position is entry-level and offers growth and development opportunities into more senior level mechanics if desired.
- Supports plant and material handling equipment maintenance and inspections
- Monitors conveying, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Identifies product handling equipment malfunctions and troubleshoots minor issues
- Records data, including equipment conditions, temperature, and pressure readings
- Works to learn and understand product flow paths and product characteristics
- Walks along conveying and storage systems monitoring the operation of material handling equipment
- Works on elevated platforms or below ground, accessible only by ladder or stairs
- Works in confined spaces
- Works indoors and outdoors in various environmental conditions
- Adheres to general safety guidelines, quality and operational objectives and procedures
- Maintains proper personal protective equipment (PPE) required during specific activities which may include:
- Dust mask/respirator
- Tyvek suit
- Gloves
- Goggles/safety glasses
- Hard hat
- Fall protection
- Personal flotation device (PFD)
- Hearing protection
- High School Diploma or GED required
- General mechanical aptitude required
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
- Previous experience working in maintenance or relevant field preferred
- Industrial maintenance experience is preferred
- Experience in the proper usage and care of hand and power tools preferred
- Ability to monitor and gain understanding of conveying systems:
- Screw conveyors

This position may require climbing and crawling in or around tight spaces and/or high spaces utilizing a safety harness.
