- Report to Facility Manager or Lead for daily work tasks.
- Remove and dispose of Black and Grey water via pump and gravity trailered tanks, as well as 250/330-gallon totes. In addition, remove and dispose of used waste oils, oil filters, dirty rags, coolant, paints, solvents and batteries to the HAZMAT area. Ensure crew or sub-contractor signs waste logbook.
- Walk grounds twice daily to pick up and dispose of all miscellaneous trash present.
- Clean floating docks (power washing).
- Sand, scrape and paint facility equipment.
- Cut, weed, trim grass.
- Keep grounds swept, using powered sweeper or broom.
- Keep following areas clean and organized at all times: HAZMAT and Tote storage, rear pipe shop, Recycle Bin, Transfer Car Pad and Rails, front Roll Off area.
- Operate forklift, scissor lift, man lift, sweeper, lawn mower, and leaf blower.
- Available to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by Manager.
- Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.
- Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area.
- Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.
Physical Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous marina experience preferred.
- Heavy forklift experience a plus.
- Ability to ascend and descend a ladder.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to work safely around the water.
- Understand OSHA requirements.
- Knowledge of dock construction and repair preferred.
- Knowledge of basic power tools preferred.
- Any skills considered standard that a Yard Hand should possess.
