Facilities Maintenance

Overview

Seeking a dedicated and reliable Facilities Technician to join our Facilities Management team. The Facilities Technician will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and safety of our client's campus buildings and facilities. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to creating a welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

• Cleaning and Maintenance:
  Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces in classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas.
• Empty and clean trash receptacles and recycling bins.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, replenish supplies, and ensure proper hygiene standards are maintained.
• Maintain cleanliness of windows, doors, and other glass surfaces.
• Assist with floor care, including stripping, waxing, and buffing as needed.
• Safety and Compliance:
  Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Report any maintenance or safety issues to the Facilities Supervisor promptly.
• Use cleaning chemicals and supplies in accordance with safety data sheets (SDS) and university policies.
• Event Support:
  Set up and break down furniture and equipment for university events, meetings, and activities as needed.
• Assist with special projects and seasonal tasks, such as snow and ice removal during winter months.
• Inventory and Equipment Management:
  Maintain and organize custodial supply closets and equipment.
• Monitor inventory levels and notify the Facilities Supervisor when supplies need to be reordered.

• Education and Experience:
  
  High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial or janitorial experience is a plus, but not required.
• Reliable transportation.
• Must pass a drug screening and background check.
• Skills and Abilities:
  
  Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning tasks.
• Good communication skills and the ability to interact positively with students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
• Physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

• The position requires working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
• May require working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to support university operations.
