* Summary:
** The Logistics Specialist II is responsible for assisting end-to-end logistics operations, supply chain planning, transportation management, international compliance, and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) processes. This role supports seamless integration across S&OP, PSI, demand/supply planning, warehouse operations, and inventory management to ensure service reliability, cost optimization, and real-time visibility of material flow. The Logistics Specialist II will collaborate closely with carriers, suppliers, 3PL partners, VMI customers, and internal cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
** Responsibilities:
*** Manage daily transportation operations across FTL/LTL, intermodal, drayage, air freight, ocean freight, and other domestic/international modes.
* Utilize TMS tools to optimize routing, tendering, load planning, and carrier assignment.
* Monitor and improve key transportation KPIs including OTD%, dwell time, detention, demurrage, and OS&D claims.
* Understand international shipping compliance including ACE/ACI, USMCA documentation, electronic manifest filings, and broker coordination.
* Support S&OP alignment across forecasting, demand planning, logistics capacity, and inventory requirements.
* Convert demand forecasts into SKU-level logistics and warehouse capacity needs.
* Analyze lead times, production schedules, and supply constraints to support continuity of operations.
* Monitor safety stock, reorder points, and inventory parameters using MRP/DRP logic.
* Conduct supply chain risk assessments and escalate shortages as needed.
* Participate in 3PL selection, qualification, negotiation, onboarding, and performance monitoring.
* Support SOPs, job manuals, KPIs, and service expectations for 3PL partners.
* Oversee 3PL P&L performance in alignment with internal cost-saving initiatives.
* Be responsible for invoice, billing, and reconciliation processes.
* Monitor VMI stock levels, reorder points, cycle counts, and replenishment triggers.
* Conduct SKU-level forecasting based on consumption trends, production schedules, and historical data.
* Adjust inventory parameters (min/max) based on variability, seasonality, and customer policies.
* Maintain dashboards for DOH, fill rate, forecast accuracy, and replenishment cycles.
* Coordinate replenishment signals, ASNs, and cycle count results with customer planners.
* Collaborate with suppliers on PO alignment, production constraints, and expedited needs.
* Lead weekly VMI reviews and provide analytics, consumption reports, and risk assessments.
* Drive continuous improvement in VMI workflows, labeling, packaging, and replenishment frequency.
* Manage VMI KPIs including OTIF, fill rate, inventory accuracy, forecast accuracy, and cycle count compliance.
* Reduce stockouts, premium freight usage, and inventory carrying costs.
* Oversee warehouse activities including receiving, put-away, slotting, picking, cross-docking, staging, and cycle counting.
* Develop and support warehouse SOPs related to VMI, consolidation, packaging, and sequencing.
* Analyze capacity, throughput, and labor utilization to improve flow and efficiency.
* Ensure compliance with CBP, CBSA, SAT, FMC, DOT, IATA, IMDG, OSHA, and other regulatory bodies.
* Verify accuracy of shipping documents including commercial invoices, USMCA certifications, BOLs, packing lists, and hazardous materials paperwork.
* Resolve customs holds, inspections, and other cross-border issues to minimize delays and cost.
* Monitor and reduce international dwell time, detention, and demurrage.
* Manage relationships with transportation carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and 3PL distribution centers.
* Assist quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and implement corrective action plans.
* Review carrier safety data, capacity commitments, and cost-to-serve metrics.
* Work with suppliers to align inbound schedules, capacity constraints, and replenishment.
* Utilize TMS/WMS dashboards, Excel modeling, and BI tools to track key performance indicators:
OTD / OTIF + Fill Rate + Inventory Accuracy + VMI DOH / Min-Max Stability + Freight Cost per Unit + Carrier Compliance + Planning Adherence
* Lead cross-functional initiatives targeting logistics cost reduction, VMI improvement, and process automation.
* Support EDI/API integration to enhance visibility and reduce manual workflows.

* Qualifications:
*** Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
* Advanced degree in Supply Chain or Logistics preferred.
* Six Sigma Green Belt or ASCM certification (CSCP, CLTD, CPIM) preferred.
