ჯახThe Savannah Convention Center is currently seeking a part‑time Banquet Captain to join our family! Be part of our team at the 330,000 square foot Savannah Convention Center, currently undergoing an expansion and located directly across from historic Savannah and on'esprit Savannah River.
We oversee all banquet functions, including coffee breaks, buffet, plated and reception events, or any other functions serving food & beverage items, and oversee concessions in the absence of the Food & Beverage Manager. This position reports to the Food & Beverage Manager. A Banquet Captain is responsible for ensuring our continued effort to deliver outstanding service to our guests. Available shifts are Monday – Friday based on events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Training all Food & Beverage servers, cashiers, bartenders and temporary staff.
- Cash handling.
- Fulfilling the service per each Banquet Event Order (BEO).
- Accurate and prompt recording of product consumption during events for billing purposes.
- sans all banquet equipment cleanliness and annual maintenance.
- Creatively design buffets and coffee break displays.
- Attention to detail and consistency in every aspect of service.
- Position is very hands‑on with excessive interaction with clients during events.
- Cleaning of uniforms and banquet linens.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Advanced oral and written communication skills.
- Strong orientation to customer service and ability to work with other staff members in the facility.
- Excellent organizational, planning, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks.
- Computer skills including Excel.
- At least two years’ experience in a banquet facilityоровв servicing meals for large имени events.
- Serv Safe Certified.
- TIPS Certified.
