The AAA Four Diamond JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District is located in the heart of historic Savannah on the riverfront, offering easy access to shopping, dining, bars, and walking tours. Built on a former power plant, the district features three historic buildings—The Power Plant, Three Muses, and the Atlantic—each with distinct architectural detail. Guests can relax by the spa or enjoy the vibrant nightlife nearby.
OverviewThe Bartender is responsible for fully setting up the bar area, mixing drinks for guests and servers, maintaining service and cleanliness, providing quality service, managing guest satisfaction, and controlling liquor inventory.
Responsibilities- Maintain a warm, friendly, and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Set up the bar according to hotel standards and serve guests promptly and efficiently.
- Prepare beverages and cocktails in line with the hotel’s mixing and presentation standards.
- Serve guests with all beverage requirements in a professional manner.
- Break down the bar after events, storing liquor, supplies, and equipment properly.
- Follow all state liquor laws and hotel policies.
- Utilize prescribed procedures in serving liquor responsibly.
- Respond to guest problems, complaints, and accidents.
- Know fire exit locations, fire extinguisher locations, and their operation.
- Keep the bar and service areas clean and tidy during service.
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
- High school diploma or equivalent; experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
- Flexible with long hours; willing to work extended shifts as required.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and stand for entire shift.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all employees and guests.
- Strong listening ability, attentive, friendly, and service-oriented interactions.
- Able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions.
- Attend required meetings and trainings.
- Maintain regular attendance and compliance with hotel scheduling standards.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and nametag.
- Adhere to safety regulations and promote efficient operations.
- Show initiative, anticipate needs, and solve problems proactively.
- Capable of cross-training in other hotel-related areas.
- Maintain confidentiality of information.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
