Job Summary and QualificationsAs a Sterile Processing Technician, you ensure patient safety by cleaning, decontaminating, assembling, sterilizing, and storing reusable surgical instruments. Your role is essential in providing instruments for surgeries and hospital departments. Your attention to detail helps us deliver the highest care standards.
- Inspect, assemble, and test instrumentation for proper function; identify and report malfunctions or missing items.
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, document all processes, and perform daily testing.
- Prepare, assemble, and package instruments for surgeries and departments.
- Ensure surgical sets, instruments, and trays are correctly prepared.
- Pull case cart sheets and prepare case carts for procedures.
- Maintain inventories and supplies in storage areas, lockers, and carts.
- Audit trays and track loaner equipment, maintaining accurate records for infection control.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Central Sterile Certification required in South Carolina; strongly preferred in Georgia and Florida.
- Prior sterilization and surgical instrumentation experience required.
