Position Summary

The Clinic Supervisor oversees daily clinical operations, ensuring efficient clinical workflows, high-quality patient care, staff performance, and regulatory compliance. This role focuses on clinical and back-office functions only and does not supervise front desk or registration staff. The position includes oversight of the MIPS (Merit-based Incentive Payment System) program and prior authorization processes for specialty medication prescriptions to support quality outcomes and timely patient access to care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Operations Oversight
  • Supervise daily clinical operations to ensure efficient patient flow and provider support
  • Coordinate clinical staffing, room utilization, and workflow optimization
  • Identify and resolve clinical operational issues in real time
  • Ensure adherence to clinical policies, procedures, and standards
  • Clinical Staff Supervision
  • Supervise clinical staff including Medical Assistants, Nurses, Technicians, and other clinical support roles
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and corrective action as needed
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, and clinical excellence
  • Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor clinical quality metrics and support quality improvement initiatives
  • Participate in audits, chart reviews, and incident reporting
  • Ensure proper handling and documentation of medications and clinical supplies
  • MIPS Program Oversight
  • Oversee clinic participation in MIPS and related quality reporting initiatives
  • Ensure accurate documentation, data capture, and workflow alignment with MIPS requirements
  • Monitor MIPS performance and report progress to leadership
  • Support provider and staff education related to quality measures and documentation standards
  • Assist with audits, submissions, and compliance activities
  • Prior Authorization Oversight – Specialty Medications
  • Oversee prior authorization workflows for specialty and high-cost medication prescriptions
  • Ensure timely submission, tracking, and follow-up of prior authorization requests
  • Collaborate with providers, clinical staff, pharmacies, and payers to resolve authorization issues
  • Monitor PA turnaround times and identify barriers to timely medication access
  • Ensure documentation meets payer and regulatory requirements
  • Support staff training and workflow improvements related to specialty medication PAs
  • Patient Care Support
  • Support a patient-centered clinical environment and address clinical-related patient concerns
  • Ensure timely clinical documentation, follow-up, and care coordination
  • Collaborate with providers to improve clinical outcomes and patient experience
  • Clinical Administration
  • Manage clinical inventory, supplies, and equipment maintenance
  • Ensure exam rooms and treatment areas are stocked, compliant, and operational
  • Support implementation of new clinical workflows, protocols, and technology
  • Participate in clinical leadership meetings and operational planning
  • Work closely with providers, Practice Manager, and Operations leadership
  • Serve as escalation point for clinical staff operational concerns
  • Collaborate with front desk leadership without direct supervisory responsibility
Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • 3–5 years of experience in a clinical healthcare setting
  • Prior supervisory or lead experience in clinical operations
  • Knowledge of clinical workflows, quality reporting, and medication authorization processes

Preferred

  • Clinical licensure or credential (MA, LPN, RN, or equivalent)
  • Experience with MIPS, value-based care programs, or quality reporting
  • Experience with specialty medication prior authorizations
  • Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems
