The Radiologic Technologist abides by the legal boundaries of practice based on the knowledge and statutes of the designated State Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners and State Professional Occupational Standards. Within the state, the employee performs only those acts, functions or task that the Radiologic Technologist is licensed, qualified, trained, knowledgeable and/or skilled to perform. The employee follows and implements the rules and regulations set forth by the standards of practice.
The Radiological Technologist accepts responsibility for individual actions and continued competence and will complete all competencies and proficiency training required by company policy.
Associates in radiology technology, radiology or related field - Required
ExperienceNone Required
License & CertificationCurrent State Radiology License;
Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist License;
Other State specific licensure and certifications - Required
Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required
Core Job FunctionsMaintains appropriate clinical standards. Follows the policy and procedures as written in the Company Policy and Procedure Manual.
Recognizes the patient’s individual rights and cultural diversity; aids the patients in their right to be informed and to participate in making decisions in all aspects of their medical care and treatment.
- Administers appropriate high quality, patient-focused health care.
- Operates imaging equipment and other ancillary equipment properly and safely.
- Positions patient in the correct position to obtain required radiographs.
- Strives to reduce retakes and conservation of supplies.
- Maintains proper filing of all x-rays, discs, and folders.
Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by clinician, including patient and family instruction; ensures that all aspects of care have respect for personal values and beliefs, and is focused on the individual needs of each patient.
Maintains all clinical documentation, including quality control and compliance logs required by company policy and applicable regulatory agencies.
- Accurately, efficiently, and completely documents all clinical patient care data.
Assists nurse and clinician on duty at all times during a shift, including, but not limited to, the unpacking of supplies and maintaining the general aesthetics of the clinic. Cleans instruments and equipment per company guidelines, maintains stock in all exam rooms before, during, and after each shift. Assists in turning over exam rooms, procedure rooms, and treatment rooms immediately after a patient is discharged from that room.
Assists non-ambulatory patients to and from the building.
Participates in department quality improvement activities, team member educational programs, attends departmental meetings, and demonstrates and maintains clinical competency in the delivery of patient care services in accordance with Company guidelines.
